You know he banned a bunch of journalists he didn't like, right? They didn't break any laws or violate any of twitter's policies. Also banned a bunch of people who talked shit about him and twitter.

but a bunch of unelected babies decided to play god with how information is disseminated in a free society
You mean the owners of the website we were using as long as we agreed to their terms? They are the Gods of their own site. Why are they babies? Because they took a dim view on the dissemination of lies and psychological warfare? Their mandate wasn't to disseminate free speech, it was to make money. But after 2016 and 2020 they saw the forest for the trees, that providing a platform for misinformation and psyops was having real, direct, and pernicious effects on American society. Elon is just a different type of God in that space.

The 21st century will be won by whoever can dominate the information space-- hearts and minds. American democracy is particularly vulnerable to information warfare because:

1. We only have two parties, and most people are ultimately single-issue fixators, so it's really easy to solidify loyalty as a party or candidate, while actually truly representing almost nobody except elites.

and

2. Unlike Russia, China, and Iran, we do ultimately choose our leaders somewhat, and this choice can be influenced quite easily through information warfare.

Liking Elon Musk is gross. He's trying to open the gate and let the monsters in.
