It's not how Americans think but rather the shift in what Israelis think in response to what happened to Israel on Oct 7.
I was making the comparison because people, including myself, have said that Oct 7 was Israel's 9/11. I'm saying Oct 7th is actually 16x worse than 9/11 on a per capita basis.
