Christianity has slowed the progression of society. It really should be shunned and not used as a crutch to get over an addiction.

I have a leftist friend who I like to watch his brain get tangled in knots over his support for Palestine
He’s a turbo atheist who dislikes Christianity but like a lot of leftists, borderline shills for Hamas, or at least tries to mansplain why they do what they do. When I challenge him on “boy it sure seems like Hamas was doing a shitty job governing for the last 15ish years they had control of Gaza. And boy it sure seems like they are a lot more oppressive than Christianity when it comes to human rights”
His response was “No things suck there because of the trade embargo by Israel”, and “sometimes a culture doesn’t mind being religiously oppressed”
I could let the first statement slide because I really don’t follow Gaza’s economics. But the second?
Lol I agree with it, it is possible to brainwash a culture into accepting religious oppression. And I wonder how many generations it would take for that to happen here if Christianity or some other major religion was allowed to get a hold of government. Probably not as many generations as one would think
So religious oppression is ok, as long as the people don’t realize what they are missing out on. That seems to be his position on it
