I read somewhere (old everlore etc) some devs made some loot (and XP) worth alot to make lvling easier to test. Time constraints made it difficult to re price stuff cuz pressured to develop new stuff. Game became bigger faster than they imagined.
Dev tools werent real flash so they had to hand change stuff. Or words to that effect.
