Everywhere has bears. The Yosemite ones are particularly intrepid and used to people, but you're absurdly unlikely to be attacked and even more unlikely to be killed, it's almost not worth thinking about. I'd
maybe pack bear spray for grizzly country, but honestly I'm reaching the age where if a grizzly bear wants to eat me, fuck yea, what a badass way to die, fighting bears, losing, and making the national news.
