Hasbinbad fails to acknowledge that the couple is from Saudi Arabia and culturally domestic abuse isn't "abuse" there and a normative of their social and religious beliefs
Thus guy is in jail and wife is therefore ostracized and shamed in their community because they put the blame on her.
Hasbinbad is therefore culturally insensitive because he applies his western logic and ethics and impresses them upon other people.
Hasbinbad is therefore just as ethnocentric as the rest of rural Mississippi just not as overt as spouting off the word "******" in a Wal-Mart
