I played from late vanilla(few months before RoK release) till DoN in 2005. I took a short break before GoD and came back as a berserker and loved the class.
PoP was some of the better raiding imo.
and yes nilbog WoW is what killed the EQ community, sadly I was one of them =/

From a raiding standpoint, Cata was amazing.
5mans...more difficult, but still ezmode.
PvP...all fucked up pre-85, balanced at 85 roughly, once everyone was in full gear.

Really? I thought Cata raiding was terrible. PvP is terrible and 5 mans are ok but yes still way easy.
Vanilla WoW imo was the best raiding. and BC season 2? Arenas was the best pvp
