I always wanted to try DAOC, but the idea that there is no world pvp is a little bit of a turn off. I've played games with specific battlegrounds/areas for pvp and it just isn't the same as being able to be ganked or gank anywhere like EQ.
I can relate to that, for a long time I was a big fan of FFA PVP (not just in EQ) also, still am. Though after a while of trying to find the ideal EQ PVP server, run by the ideal Devs and Admins, it just seems like a never ending cycle of bullshit.

This DAOC experience we got going, is kinda like the middleground between FFA and the completely restricted, instanced PVP (WoW/Warhammer style). Why? Because the best XP and Loot, mostly comes out of zones where PvP is ENABLED, and none of those zones are instanced.

The most dangerous PvP zones in the game, give upwards of 80% XP bonus, it takes balls to go into enemy territory knowing they can wipe you much easier when you're lvl 30 as opposed to lvl 50. Some people like playing safe behind some kind of layer of protection, that's not us (hence why we left that other guild that was mentioned in previous posts).

In fact, the only instanced zones on Uthgard are the ones made specifically for QUESTING, and the people who enjoy doing things like that between times of PvP or just to improve themselves further. After all, if the PVE [environment] is harsh enough, it can challenge even the most hard-core of PvPers, wouldnt you agree?
