The moral of this story is that it’s bad police procedure to encourage or allow a suspect to overdose
Criminals in police bodycam footage I see attempt to eat their drugs all the time. Standard correct operating procedure is to try to prevent that and/or fish the drugs out of the person’s mouth before they swallow them if that can be done with a tool so as not to have fingers bitten off
Once swallowed, the cops have to (and do) call paramedics immediately, because it’s pretty easy to OD on almost any hard drug, even crack or meth, when you do a dealer’s entire supply at once
