I think people could learn a lot from his communication style in debates. He speaks slowly, his tone is measured, and I personally think tone is important. If anything, if you don’t want to be interrupted or shut down when attempting to make a point, the more I would say “disinterested” or “dispassionate” you can make your tone, the better. Passion and anger to me is a very ugly look in debates, it shows a lack of control. And since you are trying to persuade the audience to see your point, being bullish just makes them mentally defensive

He also scores points for asking lots of clarifying questions. I would say he is a better debater than Anna Kasparian of the Young Turks. The only areas where I would put her ahead is she is much more attractive (although needs to tone down the damn makeup, Jesus), and she makes concessions. I haven’t heard Sam make a concession ever

Too many concessions makes you look weak to the audience. Too few and you seem close-minded
