Don't get me wrong, I am center right and I was fully supportive of some of the actions taken against rioters in June/July 2020. But I am also fully supportive of actions being taken against the rioters on January 6th, and in particular Trump and his other associates for their actions trying to prevent a fair election from being validated. Being the part of law and order means we follow the law regardless of which political affiliation the defendant has.
Furthermore, everyone on the far right side of my party LOVES to talk about the Constitution...yet they angry when we try to prosecute a guy who literally tried to ignore the Constitution, tried to overturn a constitutional election, and has verbally called for the vacating of the ENTIRE Constitution. I wish more Republicans would wake up and realize that the only reason this guy calls himself "Republican" is because he realized the far right would be easier to dupe than the far left...he doesn't care about anyone but himself and I say that from knowing him and his family personally in the past (just look at how he threw everyone from Jan 6th straight under the bus...why hasn't he donated money to their legal fights? He abandoned those people because he doesn't actually care about his supporters)

I agree with you on all of this.
I wonder why you think a guy like Donald found the far-right easier to dupe than the far-left.
I also wonder that if it isn't just that there's way more far-right people than far-left people, but I can't tell if that's just because I am a far-leftist involved in local politics in a pretty right-wing state, Georgia.
I feel outnumbered but I probably wouldn't if I had grown up in NYC
