The reason I wear a fungi tunic is pretty simple. You can get good stats (ie wisdom, resists, AC etc) from a lot of pieces. I can also cast Regrowth of the Grove. However, I can't get fungal regrowth from any other piece except that tunic. There's only a few pieces you can get that will stack regen on top of regrowth, and it's nice to always have a high natural regen. When you do things like killing dragons, they tend to AoE a lot, and with good resists and high natural regen you can survive longer without needing heals IMO.

Clearly referring to other regen items here, not spells.

I assume that the flowing thought series of items stack with one another, similar to how hp regen items stack (i.e. someone with a fungi tunic and the shield of hatred which has regen effect)

The power of regen is not in having an extra 3-6 pts of regen but in the fact that they ALL stack. Thus your 3-6 points arent really just 3-6 they are added to the 2 from lodi belt 20 or so from regrowth and the 12? from fungi tunic means you can actually get 40 pts per tic of regen easily which combined with mrylo BP is pretty fast. and all mana free. I will be testing the fungi tunic/regen idea out this next week but im pretty sure itll help a lot versus AEs.

Wear regen items (Fungi Tunic, Belt of the Great Turtle etc) to counteract his dot's. Though.. I always wear as much regen items I can whenever I duel.

the belt of the great turtle is ac6 str10 dex10 hp30 and effect aura of battle which adds atk, stamina regen, and 2hp/tick regen which stacks with my fungi tunic.
