He who feeds you rules you. If the US can produce 1billion tons of food per year to feed us, and a person out of jail trades sheckles back n forth consuming 1 ton of food per year with their US Gift certificates, and you lock em up in jail and reduce their allotted food to a half ton, that's an extra half ton of food you can export.

The economic activity of the plebs outside of jail increases the carrying cost of the country more so than locking them up in a concrete shithole. It's better for the environment too; less e-waste and a number of other ecological factors amplified by American leased-"freedom"
