Love doesnt mean you embrace mental illness. As an alcoholic, if my family just said oh thats just how he is, he sometimes drinks too much. We just need to accept him and his illness, we shouldnt judge him. Its just who he is

Substance abuse and believing or identifying as a different gender are two different things.
Ironically if we labeled belief as a mental illness then I guess Christianity could be seen as just that too.
