Bruce Afran, prominent civil rights attorney in NJ, says "I think this really comes down to twisting law in order to score political points. Just because people may not like Donald Trump doesn't give us the right to try to squeeze the law and twist it to get an indictment. That's what banana republics do. To try to contort it into a felony is a real stretch. I think this is an enormous reach to try to get at a former president."
He also said if Trump was tried, convicted and even if he was in prison Trump could still run for president and win.
