Didn’t Isaac Newton invent calculus just so he could prove his ideas on forces?
You can buy a copy of Principa Mathematica if you visit his house. Sadly it is a translated version, not original Latin. They didn’t sell Opticks either (which ironically WAS written in english).
Calculus wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t for two year lockdowns so you can thank pandems for that too.
