I had a similar issue. I quit playing in 2019 to play Classic WoW, then came back in December and EQ was super laggy. Basically unplayable. I ended up installing it on my way worse laptop and it runs fine, I never figured out why my better PC was lagging so bad (except that it’s kindof old). No other games lag at all, but p1999 is super bad. Just haven’t been playing on it. I play on my laptop because it plays way smoother. Even tried a fresh reboot and install. No dice. Dunno man.
