Ok, I think I got it.

Corporate entities are one of the main "instruments" by which capital gets allocated, invested, distributed wisely. A corporation is going to have to meet certain standards of financial transparency precisely because, the investor class likes to make sure its investment capital is not being squandered. The corporation is the cornerstone of modern capitalism, not the tycoon. Those days are gone with top hats.

So your view is the government is currently mostly in thrall to corporate interests, which means a capitalist economic system in one of its bedrock forms. As you say "this is a whole different story," and I would say so. But where do these "real leftist communist goofballs" come from?

I'm serious, how did they get in this picture, and are you saying they are in cahoots with the capitalists? Just confused. Who's in charge. "Capital interests, ultimately." Ok, cool. "But then the communists can take over too."

?

Look, what's taking over, right? And who's in charge, ok? That is all I am asking.

Let's say we have a big meeting, and all these people you say either want to take over or have taken charge are there.

What do they all agree on?
Extremely problematic devil's advocate answer: social democracy is well within the socialist tradition.
