I know what you mean about know-it-all types, my older brother is that way, and he's a 40+ year old virgin. He just can't handle a subject coming up that he isn't an expert on, he needs to be the subject matter expert and literally starts sentences by saying "Actually..."
I have the same gene but I like to think I saw that people find that annoying when I was a teenager so I skill-morphed it into snarkiness.
My younger brother, however, also has the gene but he has weaponized it and uses it for evil

I work with a bunch of those types and I want to throat punch them.
It's always nice to catch those types when they slip though.
It seems that when the Internet (and especially Google) came along, most people have all of sudden became somewhat of an expert on everything.
