How could anyone ever trust that "news" company after finding out they knowingly and willfully lied to their audience? Nothing says "I dont respect you and I think you're stupid" like saying a blatant lie over and over again.

Describing a Trump supporter's relationship with the news as containing "trust" or "respect" seems like a mischaracterization.
They will tell you things like not trusting mainstream media, but then will turn around and point at the news like apes when what it shows confirms a bias that they already hold. They did this with the 2022 election, too. "All voting machines are rigged" then they wonder why the hell they had lower than expected turnout.
They don't deal in fact, they deal in emotion, all while accusing everyone else of doing exactly that.
