Just a car wreck where I damaged my abdominal muscles so much that my intestines may be falling out.

But apparently it heals up and is not life threatening (if you get it checked out).
I'm not trying to scare you off from contrast dye. The point I'm trying to drive at is sometimes we need to risk our health in non-zero chance ways to be overall healthier. There shouldn't be major complications from CT contrast dye unless you have specific contraindications, but some people are allergic to it and it is hard for the kidneys to process (so you need healthy kidneys). I spoke to a woman recently who is allergic to that dye and she needs to be put on antihistamines and monitored for a few days anytime she gets a CT. Like for her, it's straight up dangerous, but the risk of not having the CT is worse. Good luck with your recovery. Try to trust your care team.
