Thanks for the feedback all: poop seems to pretty much be the consensus (and that includes my own experiments with it)

So, as much as I want to, I won't be using the staff to get 60 back. However, I did find one use for it: pre-60 a staff-enhanced Fire pet seems like the best option for raids. Earth annoys people with roots, Vocerate: Water is too low, and the enhanced Fire pet does more damage than an unenhanced Air.
