Something tells me that before Musk, Twitter probably made *lots* of diversity hires and I have a hunch those are the ones disproportionately being purged. (Women are more likely to prioritize work/life balance, WFH, etc). Men are no more competent than women as a whole, however, in terms of competence, women tend to be more clustered around the mean while there are more men in both tails of a normal distribution. In terms of 'elite' institutions that target the top 1%/5%/10% of any given talent pool, this means recruitment becomes weighted disproportionately toward men.

If I'm right and that data exists and it came to light, well that'd be a shitstorm.
I believe the majority of lost employees are from resignations. Great corporate strategy: hey all you people who moved places because you were allowed to work remotely. Guess what? You’re not anymore so get back to the office. And also sign this pledge that you’re going to work long grueling hours. Oh and btw we’re not going to increase your pay at all.

It’s almost like this guy doesn’t know how to manage people or run a company well.
