When you do swings you shouldn't be using your arms at all. If you are swinging it all over, you're doing it wrong.

I feel it in my shoulders sometimes. I stabilize it on the down swing between my legs because otherwise it has momentum on the next up swing. Sort of like how I make sure I don’t “bounce” at the bottom of the dicentric part of my squats (hard to describe but same concept)
