There's some relatively cheap empty lots in FL r now recommend u build a geodesic dome type structure that can survive 250 mph winds tho and is raised above ground 20 ft on pilons sunk at least into bedrock.

After driving around town, I've come to realize how strong we've been building homes lately.
Everything around the homes is destroyed. But the homes themselves were fine (excluding the trailer with no roof that I pass by everyday to work...)
But it's nuts. Homes are becoming near industructible.
A 50 ft tall, 4 feet wide oak tree gets yanked up and tossed like its nothing, but my $2500 hurricane windows are just fine.
It really does give me hope.
