Same. It's not a bunch of clones. That being said I do think some (most) professions have a tendency to veer one way or the other due to who'll be attracted to a given type of field. There's a definitely a left-lean in education, but that doesn't bug me in and of itself. Yeah, always have to guard against extremism, but that's just as true of the other side as well since that side's fundies would gladly teach the bible as incontrovertable fact (and they try to get it legislated from time to time). Fundamentalism and zealotry is the enemy of liberty and free thought regardless what side it crops up on.
(edit) a "lean" doesn't need to mean it's 99-1 in the sort of binary black-and-white way internet discussions often gravitate towards. 60-40 is still a pronounced lean.
