It's like trucks, or large F-350 type trucks. If I see one that is immaculate, with giant tires on it, I see it as wasteful. If I see one that is obviously being used for work, it is less wasteful. I would triple the income taxes for twenty years of anyone who is caught rolling coal.
Same goes for pretty much any vehicle. There's a place for all of these vehicles, even ones that use gasoline, in almost any type of economy. I dislike what automobiles have done to American society, but it's not the car's fault, it's the car company that has outsized influence on our politics.
I have always seen car culture crap as being heavily influenced by a lot of the sillier aspects of toxic masculinity.
