It's expected because we're logging into a multiplayer game. If someone can't control himself and acts like a twit all the time, he can stick to single player stuff rather than messing it up for everyone else.
The age of the game is irrelevant. I have 40 year old console games I use; there are 100+ year old sports I enjoy. This isn't perishable food and it doesn't have a finite shelf life.
