Lesser known gym tips:
1. Anything that feels awkward initially, will not stay awkward, especially to someone who hasn’t been lifting for a long time. Over a long period of time, your mind will “find” your muscles, a combination of them developing more and you figuring out the brain signals to isolate/move them. It’s known as mind muscle connection. TLDR: given enough time, most things don’t stay awkward
2. It’s considered polite if there’s room to move so as to not block someone’s view of the closest mirror to them. This is ONLY if there is considerable room to move somewhere slightly to the side, otherwise they can go fuck themselves. This is not a vanity thing, it’s because mirrors can be crucial to keep tabs on form. And it’s also a vanity thing

3. A way to rationalize always putting weights back (besides not being a dick) is it is an unorthodox lift in itself, develops functional movements, and burns calories. A friend explained it like this to me and I used it ever since
4. It’s considered slightly rude to tie up a machine like squat racks for longer than 30min periods of time. Usually better to break up a longer time into 2 mini-sessions spaced 15-20 min apart, because if it’s busy I guarantee you someone is angrily eye fucking you running out of their time frame to work out that day
Will add more sometime as I think of them
