I log in my rogue parked at NG safe spot to go get my necro's corpse out of the crypt. I see a chanter fighting with a pet upon logging in, i hit hide/sneak quick but not quickly enough and con him threatening.
The Chanter is in trouble! He's trying to run away from his pet and the krup at 40% summons....
I start backstabbing and the fucking chanter dies! Then i die!
What other game does this!?!
Good times p99
This is why I disagree with instancing/rotations limiting interaction. The obstacle is the way.

Fact: you could, if you had the time, go through p99 forums. Go back through all the debates about this dumb elf simulator. There are lot of people who know about the curious "interaction" aspect that you mention.
I remember one post by a veteran here, ranting about things like teleport stations and other travel eases that come post-velious.
"If I don't interact with a druid or a wizard to travel, what kind of bullshit is that?"
It was a great mini-rant. I forget who it was, but it was maybe 5 years ago.
And the point was stone fact.
So I upvote your post b/c if a persistent world ever happens again worth investing time in, it has to involve what you mentioned. You must still be able to try to save a soloing enchanter by backstabbing the loose pet, and then both of you must die and do corpse run.
People who fought together on Guadalcanal have these kinds of bonds.
