One unequal thing between men and women when it comes to getting in shape for a movie or tv role is the level of shape expected and the effort required

Both generally are expected to shed some fat, ideally close to around we’ll say 10% bf for men and maybe 18%bf for women

But then the real differences begin. The men usually have to put on an additional 10-20lbs of pure lean muscle. This causes some debate and controversy. These actors can’t say they took illegal substances, so instead they will say they tortured their bodies for months at a time with 4 hour training sessions/day and eating nothing but chicken broccoli and rice. And that’s probably true. But in addition to that, many also secretly put their health at risk taking illegal drugs that are hard on their heart and organs. No one drug tests them, so why not?

So both sexes have to diet hardcore. But then men have to torture their bodies for months and sometimes take illegal drugs under the table to achieve the desired physique

Imagine how much more convincing female action heroes would be if they did the same? But it’s ok, they get a pass to appear frail and weak
