Get yourself some heating/cooling gel compression bands for recovery. I got a good one for my ankle after I broke it and it really really helped. I’m actually wearing it right now cuz I’m a dumbass and apparently fell off my bike while riding home from a friends bday party blacked out drunk. Fucking Netherlands lol.
I also now swear by my electric foot bath. Not sure if it’d help for shins specifically, but my feets love it.
