They were already working on that in 1960! Turns out by surrounding themselves with conductive materials, hardening their electrical systems, and not loitering in the areas of highest activity they would actually obtain more overall exposure from their time spent outside the belts - here's an interesting pdf that has tons of detail about the dosimeters used, average exposure of each mission, and the rules for what to do in the events of various solar events during the mission(s).

Have you got
any actual proof which we can verify ourselves or do you only have stories to share with everybody? I mean, you didn't come up with the idea, you weren't there, you didn't go, and you have no independently verifiable scientific evidence so why should anybody believe you? Why would married men risk their lives for nothing?
