Last time I checked the stories people tell of the hard times are that they worked 2 jobs and went to school to better themselves and sometimes had to miss meals, and eat ramon for weeks. But now they're successful people with a sense of worth due to their struggle to success.

So in your first paragraph you're all bitching about how being poor and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps is noble and rad.
Then in your second paragraph, you're all angsty about grants, scholarships and even student loans.
So what's up, duder? How are people supposed to start with nothing, eat dirt and drink fetid piss and still manage to save up and pay their own way to a degree?
