Kman if you're serious about this talk with me and Shiftin. I'm from the Valley, went to HS in New Braunfels, UT for undergrad, Houston for work, then in San Marcos for grad school and hopefully back to Houston for dental school.

Austin is a great place to live for a few years but it's pricey as hell and if you don't live inside of the two highways you're fucked on traffic. Honestly I'm over Austin and doubt I would ever want to live there again but I love Houston.

Again it's all about where you're able to live in these cities. People who live on the outskirts of Houston seem to hate it but I lived in the Galleria area and it was an incredible place to live, Rice Village is really cool too.

I have a serious dislike for Dallas but I imagine if I go there for school and live downtown I'd end up liking it.

Only advice I offer on Austin is make sure you have a job locked down before moving there, don't expect to show up there and fall into a lifestyle or income you're accustomed to. People are more educated, work for less, and pay more to live in Austin than anywhere else in the state. With that said, it's still probably the best place to live for 4-5 years prior to having a family.
