Had ice cream vans cruising through neighborhoods when I was a kid. Would get mint chip ice cream and those exploding white popper mini-grenades which I would then throw at my friend’s bare feet. “Dance, fuckers, dance!”

Nowadays there are almost no ice cream vans around me anymore, but what we do have in the southwest is the “Elote Man”. He’s a Hispanic dude on a bike with a bunch of coolers on the sides. He sells amongst other things sweet mayonnaise corn with chili powder and that strange combination of things combined to become one of the best tasting things you ever put in your mouth

Elote Man is like a Leprechaun, hard to find except for one time of day: 2:30-3:00pm near Hispanic schools. 2 or 3 competing Elote Men would post up around these to get the kids coming home from school to buy treats. Those are the kids I would be shoving out of the way during downtime at work in those areas as I charge up to the Elote Man waving my money
