These are all jobs I’ve seen in behavioral health that can EASILY be done without it a college degree:

- You could be doing what’s called “intakes” which is getting never ending assembly lines of people signed up at a clinic. It’s just asking them 2 hours worth of questions and entering the information into the network. Then linking them up with services, that’s it. If they freak out on you or act psychotic, you call in other help

- You could be a case manager, which involves having a caseload of people you check up on to make sure their services are meeting their needs and offering other resources which are easy to learn (housing, SNAP, substance abuse programs, etc)

- you could work at a group home or substance abuse clinic directly with residents there. Maybe giving medications, maybe facilitating a group (this is not considered counseling)

- you could be a peer support, helping either kids or adults by taking them out in the community and doing stuff with them

- you could work at a behavioral health hospital in literally ANY position other than the top administration or doing outpatient counseling, which would require a license

- And this is just off the top of my head when I’m tired in the morning

- all of these jobs would start paying around $35k+ a year

ALL of these positions ask for a degree and yet ALL of them will either train you or you will learn as you go. The alternative? Many of them will accept you if you have no degree but “2 year experience in the field”. How do you get that experience without the degree? Beats me!
My son makes $250k as a CRNA. I thought he was a moron for becoming a nurse, but he had his bachelor’s done by 20 and grad school done by 30

I’d do that, comp sci, or engineering if I were 18. Back in the day I did engineering with the hopes of going to med school but I’m dumb and got a girl pregnant so just a lowly electrical engineer
