It was so bad, and still is. I've had a whole two people leave games in LoL since I've started.

You played during beta, where there was zero accountability for leaving games. Guess what, I played during closed beta too, as well as well after it. Once it went retail and you had to purchase an account to play, people knew their accounts would get gimped if you reached a certain leave percentage, and nobody really ragequit.
Is the community horrible? yeah
