a raid rotation is pretty gay but it's also not that much different to me than train-fucking eachother for zone control.

There was very little actual PvP on that last box. And I really have nothing to prove to any of the 20-or-so career red boxers who have been here the past five years because we've all killed eachother already. How much times are Knuckle and I going to fight? We've probably done that 30+ times already. The Book of Knuckle and Searyx should be closed by now.

The NO RULES ANYTHING GOES really does take a shit on the pvp potential too. That means training replaces PvP anywhere that you can train. And it means entire guilds are running the Kringe MQ Build (tm). I had people poof/warp/instacamp on me when I was moving in for a kill several times. And if that isn't possible, we can always fall back on the old tried-and-true zoneplug. I always enjoyed BOTBs because it was so plain and simple and forced people to actually, you know, fight eachother.

Also just playing the newb lvls on P1999 makes me realize how fucking BAD the PVE code is for any of our red boxes. It is not just bad/broken/incomplete, but it's also way too easy. Spells land on everything, lull works on everything, 1-50 in eight hours, paladin in shit gear can solo the frenzied ghoul, etc.

It is no challenge and ultimately makes for a server that despite being red is actually less challenging than the blue one. That's the reality bros.

Pray for a red server using the P1999 code/db, because nothing short of that is worth the time.
I think you would really have a lot of fun with training on a server with p99's code (where mobs have actual pathing and don't just go through walls). That doesn't mean you should do it or that training should be allowed if red99 comes out (I have no opinion either way), but that you can get some really fun trains since you can predict where the mobs will path. It also means ae groups in dungeons work better.

Anyways, I'm glad you appreciate blue99 for how well-coded it is, even if you've sacrificed a lot of your street cred in coming out of the closet about it.

edit: by the way, rotations are very rare on p99. So is poopsocking honestly (it just seems to happen with trakanon). Most of the time guilds race to raid mobs and it's actually quite fun when there's a patch and the server comes back up and all mobs respawn (like how it was on Live). So, there is some level of competition, you just can't kill other people.
