This. Keyring doesn't make things less challenging; just balanced. Imagine a newb that died in Befallen and doesn't have the key, playing in offpeak time. Even if on Red server, where the GMs have abandoned that server and no one plays but {whoever is locked out on a corpse run}.
Let's say Tower of Frozen Shadow. The rewards aren't THAT great compared to other zone rewards - I'd say almost equal. Therefore, corpse runs with poofed keys for *every* floor doesn't make sense for balance anyway. If the items dropped were 2x more powerful, and the exp was doubled, sure - but it's not. Heck, it's not even a top exp zone. Such a *potentially* fun zone destroyed and abandoned due to the lack of keyrings. The same could be said with {literally any zone using keys}.
