We are able to ship wheat out of Ukraine, and that war has people cutting each others dicks off... Hundreds of people dying a day, but we can still exchange goods.
China will just push and push and push and push and we'll just watch. We dont want war and we need trade, so we'll just let it happen, with a little bit of flag waving, and not enough support to stop it.
We have an amazing ability to have wars and trade at the same time. Things would be expensive, but that just means more money for the people who manage to link the goods exchange.
At least you have your answer as to why we are spending money on chips!
(shame we spent 100's of billions over the last 20 years retrofitting Chinese industry and teaching china how to make them better)

I doubt we maintain trade and I bet we declare war to some degree
But who knows, probably just the same thing we did to Russia. Sanctions and a promise we’ll never trade with them again. We really don’t have any military options with China that doesn’t involve a total war scenario.
China won’t back down though. These guys can’t give their people economic progress so they preach nationalism to the extent that it becomes tail wags the dog
