My experience is the opposite; I don't care about slam all that much on a shadowknight. It doesn't hurt but I've never had cause to think of it as "critical." Fear's usually a better method of spell suppression. There's always shields so any shadowknight who wants to bash can do so with at worst a weapon change. I like slam best on a shaman since it otherwise doesn't get that ability at all and has very weak interrupts besides.

Slam is actually better for fear kiting than spell interruption on an SK (even though it does help with that too). The idea is that every time you stun the enemy for 1 second or so, you are extending your fear runway because they stop moving during the stun period. This is especially great in places where you have a small runway to fear kite.
