The original way a noob plays the game is race first then class. It’s the first selection, then class and dirty.
Sure some pros picked via class originally but pure noobs chose the race they want to be since they don’t know anything about the classes abilities anyways.
My first race was wood elf but iksar didn’t exist yet so we’ll never know if I woulda been an ikky

Interesting bed time story but somebody who has already played WoW and MUDs shouldn't be a noob.
When I first started playing EQ I didn't say I can't wait to be a erudite I said I can't wait to be a Wizard and I then picked erudite for INT. I'd already played Diablo and Dungeons & Dragons by then.
