My first choice on that list would be “other/third party” but second would be sanders simply because the nation does need to take the side of the poor for a moment and address some pressing issues, like affordable housing. I think he’d fuck it up, but at least it would be a fig leaf to people struggling. I voted DeSantis in this poll because he has trump’s appeal to that type of voter but he doesn’t come with the baggage. I think people also down play how utterly stupid it was for democratic municipalities and states to shut down schools during Covid. He’ll probably get credit with the electorate for keeping them open
This assumes 10 republicans don’t run against trump and divide the vote. If it’s trump, DeSantis, and someone like Romney, I think DeSantis can win the primary
