Look at what this need to hate one specific group mentioned as sin in the Bible does:

Why don't we see churches breaking apart over gluttony, or people who wear mixed fabrics, or the supposed disobedience of women against their husbands? Why just this one particular "sin"?
Not that I believe it's sin, but that's a different discussion
