You just described Elder Scrolls Online for the most part.

I really want tradeskills to be worthwhile in Everquest. They never were in classic (not sure even after classic). In a game like ESO crafting is almost essential, or it's at least so useful that crafted gear sets can be almost as useful as the rarest gear drops, and with a huge variety of bonuses and effects. There's even gear that drops that's designed to be dismantled for extra skill-up points instead of worn (you raise tradeskills by deconstructing items in that game. It's unique and it works great.)

In Everquest you get cultural armor which is yawn-worthy and way too complex to craft for what it's worth. Except for fletching and maybe alchemy Everquest tradeskills were mostly for roleplaying or helping newbies get a leg-up with banded armor or something, and eventually a rare few quests.

I'm starting to think I should be playing ESO again lol.
Ya. ESO was OK.

It didn't grab me tho.

Not because of the game play.

I love hate that ESO universe and lore...I felt kinda inundated with PvE and fetch quests and collection stuff. EQ2 had that same problem 10x worse. Usually wow makes this 10x more entertaining. Classic EQ is completely off rails and sandbox ftw.

U can still actually level OK in wow without overmuch questing. They made SL way to "story quest" heavy. So to play alts u need to play like 16 days of storyline and "chore quests" to catch up in time gated chunks. Which absolutely kills the game.
