I could be wrong but iirc the way it worked was, nobody knew the recepie to become a jedi, and they wanted them to be extremely rare.
So they set it up so just some random combination of stats/crafting skills/quests completed, would randomly turn you into a jedi.
But if i also recall, it took about 1-3 months for someone to figure it out.
Would be cool to do that for green, somewhere out there is the right combination of quests to wake the sleeper, and when you do you get a special quest dialogue like,
"oh wait, too much magic questing.. now we've done it!...."
