The ideal solution is to learn how to live with it in a constructive way.
I would argue the backlash against homosexuality is just as destructive as giving homosexuality privilege. Which they still don't have, they will acquire special privileges if the culture war continues tho.
Hating gays is still losing popularity. Even among Trump acolytes and zealots. And so many Republicans are secretly gay that when they start getting pinched in mass numbers it will really fracture the party. If it hasn't already.
