I prefer Blue with DuxaUI. But for a really new player I would recommend Green.
At Blue you will have a harder time finding other players for grouping, binds (set hearthstone), buffs and help. Also stuff at the tunnel in the Commonlands (we created the now common Bazaar system back then) is mostly expensive high-end gear, but now and then some cheap stuff is sold or just handed out to new characters.
But the player base is pretty much the same on both servers, usually friendly and helpful people.
