Fact is that if we cared to lose the money we could inflict strong sanctions on russia. It would take a spine though so its unlikely.

The west has quite a bit of obligation towards defending Ukraine that should be honored, they made deals in exchange for the nuclear arsenal they turned over that should have left the non russian world to give a rats ass about them but you can see once you give up nukes you can become non-factor pretty fast which is why north korea never went that way.
